| Bio: | I’ve been a professional writer since 1978 and am the author of over 20 books (fiction and nonfiction), original Internet programs, 1100-plus articles, plays, short stories, etc.
I am a multiple Bram Stoker Award winner. My novels include GHOST ROAD BLUES (winner of the 2006 Stoker for Best First Novel), DEAD MAN'S SONG, and BAD MOON RISING (Pinnacle Books), and PATIENT ZERO (due from St Martins Press in March 2009). My nonfiction books include VAMPIRE UNIVERSE, THE CRYPTOPEDIA (winner of the 2007 Stoker for Best Nonfiction), ZOMBIE CSU: The Forensics of the Living Dead (due August 2008), THEY BITE (due 2009) and VAMPIRE HUNTERS AND OTHER ENEMIES OF EVIL (due 2010).
Recently I co-created (with Laura Schrock) ON THE SLAB, an entertainment news show for ABC Disney Stage 9, to be released on the Internet in October 2008.
I’ve also just signed with Universal Pictures to write the novelization of the new remake of THE WOLF-MAN, which is being filmed right now with Benecio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blunt, and Hugo Weaving.
I'm developing more Internet shows (fiction and nonfiction), video games, and other products.
My agents are shopping various products of mine around for feature film, TV, comics, games and the Net.
I'm a frequent guest lecturer and workshop leader for writers conferences (speaking on Book Pitching, Writing Fight & Action Scenes, Breaking into Publishing, etc.); genre conferences, and general business (on using creativity to enhance business performance).
I’ve also written a number of nonfiction books on martial arts and self-defense; I hold an 8th degree black belt in jujutsu, and am an inductee into the International Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
